Joseph Patrick Waters
Attorney Joseph Patrick Waters is licensed to practice law in California, the United States District Court-Southern District of California, and the United States District Court-Central District of California. Attorney Waters earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Concord Law School. While attending Concord Law School, Attorney Waters was named to the Dean’s List. Attorney Waters earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Park University.
Attorney Waters completed his Juris Doctorate while serving as an active-duty Marine. He retired in 2009 as a Gunnery Sergeant, after 20 years of honorable service. While in the Marine Corps, Attorney Waters was awarded three Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals, was honored as Marine of the Quarter three times, and was nominated for Marine of the Year.
During 2008 and 2009, Attorney Waters volunteered with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s (SDVLP) Domestic Violence Restraining Order clinic. His service resulted in his recognition for providing legal services to indigent clients. Attorney Waters also tested and qualified for San Diego Mensa.
After passing the California Bar Exam in 2009, Attorney Waters worked at a civil litigation firm in La Mesa, focusing on discovery matters. In 2010, Attorney Waters began his solo practice, focusing on family law, bankruptcy, and disability discrimination cases.
At The Edmunds Law Firm, Attorney Waters focuses on Family Law and Security Clearance matters.
In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family and his two German Shepherd Dogs (Greta and Helga.) He is also active in the disabled combat veteran community, spending time to help train service dogs for those who have returned from war. Attorney Waters has practiced Mixed Martial Arts since 2009, and is in pursuit of his black belt.
